Houston Astros Minute Maid Park Sketch

December 16, 2011

I was asked to do a sketch of the of the Astros home field, Minute Maid Park. I don't do too much drawing of real things, or in pencil, and especially not buildings. However I had a lot of fun doing this. So, I've been thinking of sketching lots of other cool things in the Houston area.

Anyway, I wanted to show the progression of the sketch. Seeing how I don't draw in pencil very much I'm not certain if it's complete or not. I'm not 100% satisfied so it may be tweaked up here in there.

I started the sketch last night and spent a couple of hours on it today to finish it up. I'm much faster with pencil than I thought I would have been. Let me shut up now and just show you the pics:

I know these aren't the greatest photos either. The paper is 14x17 and too large for my scanner. I also don't have a a tripod for my camera so the pictures aren't exactly lined up proper. I'll get that hammered out before I get a final picture for the internet.
